Wendy Brown | Academy Director

Admissions, Student Services and Licensed Instructor

I attended cosmetology school directly out of high school, and the career drew me in immediately. I have worked exclusively in this industry, but have followed many career paths...Stylist, Salon Manager, Instructor, and ultimately School Director for Professional Salon Academy. My passion for this industry, and the students we serve, is what keeps me striving for excellence in education. Although my main focus is student services, you will find me in the classroom teaching color education during basics and occasionally theory.

I am the mother of twin daughters, one of whom graduated from PSA and currently works in the cosmetology industry. My other daughter is pursuing her own career. Family is very important to me, and together we enjoy the outdoors, bike riding, walking, and spending time together.

Vonnie Bahr | Licensed Instructor

Clinic Floor Supervision and Basic Instruction, Cosmetology

I graduated from cosmetology school in 1978, and have worked in a number of avenues in this industry since then. I have worked as a stylist, managed a salon, and have held my instructor's license for the past 15 years. I attended BSU from 1989-1992, pursuing a business degree to complement my cosmetology education. I have been an instructor here at PSA since 2005, and I currently teach all aspects of hair, both on the clinic floor and in the classroom.

I am married and have 9 grandchildren, and I love being a Grandma! I enjoy 4-wheeling and spending time with my 2 dogs.

Lori Reed | Licensed Instructor

Clinic Floor Supervision and Basic Instruction, Cosmetology and Nail Technology

I spent 18 years in the healthcare field, which included owning my own Adult Foster Care for adults with dimentia and alzheimers. In 2010, I chose to change my career path and attended Professional Salon Academy for Cosmetology. I then worked as a stylist for a few years, but decided my passion was in teaching, and I have worked at PSA since 2013. I specialize in Nail Technology and Aesthetics as well as all aspects of hair.

I am married with two children, and one grandchild. I enjoy being outdoors, horseback riding, and time spent with my family.

Betty Goose | Administrative Assistant

Office and Student Services

My background is in early childhood and human services, and I have taken a number of paths in my working career. I have worked in both retail and retail management, and I have been with Professional Salon Academy since 2008 as an Administrative Assistant. I work with management and student services on a part-time basis. On the days I'm not at PSA, I am working in a gift shop I own in downtown Bemidji.

I am married with five children, and one grandchild. Much of my free time is spent with my family, however I have a huge heart for the elderly, and I volunteer a lot of my free time advocating for them and visiting with them. I enjoy reading, movies and the arts, as well as visiting vintage and antique shops.

People may not remember exactly what you did,

But they will always remember how you made them feel

Jessica Erickson | Licensed Instructor

Clinic Floor Supervision and Basic Instruction, Cosmetology

I worked as a CNA for several years when I decided that I wanted to pursue another carer.  In 2014 I attended Professional Salon Academy.  Once in the salon, I made a decision that I wanted to do more with my career.  I received my instructor's license in 2017 and have worked here at PSA since, I enjoy all aspects of the career and look forward to the challenges that this career can offer.

I enjoy being outdoors, gardening, and spending time with friends and family.
